A note on this
Session:
This is not really a "Slow" Session or a "Fast" Session.
Fast sessions are usually too fast for several of the
players and slow sessions are too slow for some.
We like to play tunes at a pace appropriate for the
feel of the tune and always value accuracy over speed.
So, at our session, we'll try to play the tune at the
pace of whoever starts it !
You're welcome to bring sheet music, tab or play by ear
at this session. The music is the important thing here
and not the tools you use to play it.
We always welcome new tunes and new players but ask
you to bring music for new tunes to share since not
everyone will know the tune.
There always seems to be an "attitude" that many people
pick up when playing traditional Irish music. And the
same thing happens in Bluegrass or Old-time circles.
We're doing our best to avoid having an attitude or
being "purists" about everything. But, that said, we do
have a deep respect for the music we're performing.
Enough of the soapbox ! Our main rule is there are
no fast rules ! Above all, have some fun with us whether
playing or listening.
We play Irish trad music together as friends !
